In the early hours of Tuesday, the third day of Chol Hamoed in Eretz Yisrael, HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Zilberstein paid a visit to the sukkah of Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka, HaGaon HaRav Dov Landau.
What are Rabbanim doing when they arrive at the houses of ‘baalei batim’ for a Chag visit? wondered HaRav Landau as he rose in praise of Rav Zilberstein.
“For more than 20 minutes, the two Gedolim conversed. Rav Zilberstein shared with Rav Landau a number of maasos concerning halachic issues that happened when he was studying in Slabodka as a bochur before Rav Landau started studying there.
Later, HaRav Zilberstein and HaRav Landau had a private discussion regarding the Ramat Gan party he founded and the milchamas hakodesh he is waging for kedushas haShabbos.
The Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka, HaGaon HaRav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, as well as the Rosh Yeshivas Chevron, HaGaon HaRav Dovid Cohen, both paid visits.
