In an incident on this past Shabbos, a Jewish woman who met with a shooting incident and was hit in the head in Williamsburg was left unharmed due to her shaitel.

According to the series of events in the miraculous incident, the NYPD said that at about 7:20 pm on Shabbos, a vehicle approached a 21-year-old Jewish woman standing at the corner of Ross Street and Bedford Avenue, and a back-seat passenger lowered their window, displayed what appeared to be a weapon of some kind and opened fire.

The young woman was struck in the head by the projectiles –which the police were some sort of beads – but her shaitel protected her from injury by absorbing the blows.

Unaware if the attack was antisemitic in nature, the NYPD is still investigating the matter.  The suspects fled, and no one was in custody as of Monday night.
