After being struck and run last week in Midwood, a Hasidic resident of Williamsburg is now in stable condition.
On February 23, the event happened on Newkirk Avenue, close to East 21st Street.
According to sources, the victim, who requested anonymity and works nearby, was crossing Newkirk Avenue just before 4:30 when he was hit by a car that fled the scene.
A white car is seen in video footage of the event, which leaked on social media on Monday, appearing to swerve back and forth, strike the Hasidic guy, and then drive away.
In his sixties, the man was transported to Bellevue Hospital with multiple shattered bones.
Authorities are still looking into the event, so they could not comment on whether they were classifying it as a hate crime.
