After Monday night’s draw was postponed due to a security protocol issue, lottery officials finally revealed the winning numbers for Powerball’s record-breaking $2.04 billion jackpot on Tuesday.
The Powerball number was 10, and the winning numbers were 10-33-41-47-56.
Nearly 10 hours after the drawing was supposed to be broadcast live throughout the country on Tuesday morning, the winners were announced via the Powerball website and a taped video posted on the lottery’s YouTube page.
Although it’s unclear if any jackpot-winning tickets were sold, information was anticipated to be released later on Tuesday.
One in 292.2 million people have a chance of winning the jackpot.
The winner or winners will have two choices for payment if a winner is announced.
If they decided on an annuity, the anticipated $2.04 billion payout would be distributed over 29 years.
But almost all winners chose to take the cash lump amount instead, which would have been $929.1 million for Monday’s scheduled drawing.
On Tuesday, the cash option’s value for the $2.04 billion prize was not immediately available.
