
Another $100 million has been added to the pot by Mega Millions. The top prize in the lottery game increased to an estimated $820 million after the most recent drawing on Friday night ended without a jackpot winner.
Late on Friday, the following numbers were drawn: 29, 40, 47, 50, 57, and gold Mega Ball 25. The predicted $720 million grand prize was not reached by any tickets sold.
Only a winner who selects an annuity payment over 29 years will receive the estimated $820 million in the following drawing on Tuesday night.
The anticipated $422 million grand prize payout for Tuesday’s drawing is something that almost all grand prize winners choose to accept.
The potential jackpot is the fifth-largest in the game’s history, according to a statement released by Mega Millions early on Saturday.
Despite the game’s low likelihood of 1 in 302.6 million, participants keep buying tickets as the grand prize’s value increases. On April 18, a Mega Millions player last won the grand prize.
In Friday’s drawing, eight tickets that matched five white balls each won $1 million. According to Mega Millions, there were two sales each in Florida, New Jersey, and North Carolina, as well as one sale each in California and Michigan.
Prior to the winning ticket for Wednesday’s drawing, estimated to be worth $1.08 billion, being sold in a small neighborhood store in downtown Los Angeles, the Powerball jackpot was also approaching nearly record levels.
