During a trip to Williamsburg, Lee Zeldin, a Republican running for governor in New York, received a Talis bag with his Hebrew name.
Zeldin was in front of the Viznitz Shul on Lee Avenue in Williamsburg when he was given the present.
He gave a fervent speech about the significance of each voter’s vote while he was there.
Zeldin instructed the gathering, “For the next nine days, do everything in your power everywhere and take nothing for granted.”
“Let’s go out and save this city, let’s go out and save this state so that we can walk our streets, travel in our subways, and practice our religion, all in freedom and safety, [with] our children’s education no longer under attack,” the call to action reads.
